چکیده
Abstract New occurrences of flask-shaped and envelope-bearing microfossils, including the predominantly Cambrian taxon Granomarginata , are reported from new localities, as well earlier in time (Ediacaran) than previously known. The stratigraphic range extends into System, where it had a cosmopolitan distribution. This newly Ediacaran record includes areas Norway (Baltica), Newfoundland (Avalonia) Namibia (adjacent to Kalahari Craton), puts oldest global occurrence Indreelva Member (< 563 Ma) Stáhpogieddi Formation on Digermulen Peninsula, Arctic Norway. Although is rare within assemblage, these together with India Poland, suggest potentially widespread palaeogeographic distribution through middle–late interval. A microfossil Lagoenaforma collaris gen. et sp. nov. also horizons containing Dabis Namibia, fossils found Gibbett Hill Newfoundland. – association, addition low-diversity organic-walled occurs strata postdating Shuram carbon isotope excursion, may eventually be use terminal biostratigraphy. These older add growing body fossil taxa spanning Ediacaran–Cambrian boundary.

A new pycnodont fish from the early-mid Cenomanian, Late Cretaceous, of the 'Ein Yabrud quarry near the village of Beit Eil in Israel is the first pycnodont fish to be described from this locality. Due to the locality where it was found, Scalacurvithys naishi gen. et sp. nov. is considered an inhabitant of reefal waters interspersed with lagoons in the eastern Tethys Sea. Scalacurvichthys naish...

Silicified dolomite of the approximately one billion year old Skillogalee Dolomite of the Adelaide Geosyncline, South Australia, contains organically preserved microfossils of a structurally complex, crustose pleurocapsalean cyanophyte, herein described as Paleopleurocapsa wopfnerii. Although actual cell contents have been degraded, lamellar sheath material faithfully preserves the morphology o...

Conlarium duplumascospora gen. et. sp. nov. and Jobellisia guangdongensis sp. nov. are described and illustrated from submerged wood collected from Guangdong Province, China. Conlarium duplumascospora is characterized by gregarious, coriaceous and beaked ascomata; cylindrical, unitunicate asci with a bipartite apical ring; biseriate, fusiform, hyaline, 0-5-septate ascospores with or without app...
متن کاملLatisemenia longshania, gen. et sp. nov., a new Late Devonian seed plant from China.
The earliest known ovules in the Late Devonian (Famennian) are borne terminally on fertile branches and are typically enclosed in a cupule. Among these ovules are some that have terete integumentary lobes with little or no fusion. Here, we report a new taxon, Latisemenia longshania, from the Famennian of South China, which bears cupulate ovules that are terminal as well as opposite on the ferti...

Compressions and impressions of an isoetalean lycopsid, comprising lower portions of stems, lobed bases, attached rootlets, and rounded rootlet scars, discovered in Late Devonian (Famennian) rocks of Clinton County, north-central Pennsylvania, Appalachian Basin, USA, are here described as Otzinachsonia beerboweri, gen. et sp. nov. These specimens demonstrate unequivocally the existence of the i...
